Il linguaggio delle immagini

Curated by Marcella Manni, the exhibition presents and compares works and authors who, in the late 1980s and early 1990s, faced with their research, the challenges of technological advancement and at the same time refined and specified their own language, aesthetic and formal. Those years gave the world of photography a strong acceleration from a technical point of view, first with the spread of computers and the Internet and then of the digital medium. But they are also years during which we had to confront, on the one hand, the cultural legacy of Luigi Ghirri, who died in 1992, and on the other hand, experiences of practice and research across borders, which began as early as the late 1980s.

The exhibition features more than 60 works by Italian photographers from important public and private collections, including Collezione Donata Pizzi, Collezione Trevisan, Collezione Ettore Molinario, Gamec Bergamo, and Collezione Marco Antonetto.
