The exhibition, produced by the Italian Embassy in Lisbon in partnership with Galerias Municipais and Festas de Lisboa – EGEAC, investigates the way in which photography by women photography by women has confronted the world of work in contemporary Italy.

The first issue of the Quaderni series of the Donata Pizzi Collection is in collaboration with FOTODOK of Utrecht and investigates the practice of re-enactment.
The online conversation between Donata Pizzi, Steve Bisson and Alessandra Capodacqua will address two themes: how Collezione Donata Pizzi was created and the idea behind the publication Quaderni, published by Penisola Edizioni.
Spotlight on photography and Italian women photographers at Castello Campori with the exhibition Giochi di verità. Rappresentazione, ritratto, documento (Games of Truth. Representation, Portrait, Document) curated by Marcella Manni with works from Collezione Donata Pizzi. The exhibition, conceived and created for the Castello’s premises, includes more than 80 photographs featuring the works by Paola Agosti, Tomaso Binga, Lisetta Carmi, Silvia Camporesi, Libera Mazzoleni, Marinella Senatore, Silvia Rosi, Elisabetta Catalano, Liliana Barchiesi, Betty Bee, Luisa Lambri, and Ottonella Mocellin, among others. Along a time span of more than fifty years (from 1965 to the present), the exhibition traces significant moments in Italian photography by highlighting the conceptual, aesthetic and technological evolutions that have developed in recent decades.
The jury, composed by Tim Clark, Adele Ghirri, Elisa Medde, Cristiano Raimondi and Carlo Sala, declared Giulia Parlato the winner “For constructing a research project that questions and interrogates the role of photography and the museum in historical reconstruction, and our role and responsibility in attributing meanings and degrees of adherence to reality.”

The exhibition looks at how female photographers have explored work, especially female labour, in contemporary Italy, with over 100 selected images from the work of 12 women artists and two collectives, together with important loans from the Collezione Donata Pizzi and a selection of images from UDI (Union of Italian Women) Archive in Bologna A constellation of women from different generations are brought together through their shared use of the medium of photography as a means of personal emancipation
and political inquiry.
From March 19 to June 26, 2022 the Magazzino delle Idee in Trieste presents the exhibition Io, lei, l’altra – Portraits and photographic self-portraits of women artists, curated by Guido Comis in collaboration with Simona Cossu and Alessandra Paulitti. Produced and organised by ERPAC – Ente Regionale per il Patrimonio Culturale del Friuli Venezia Giulia – the exhibition traces, through ninety works, the photography of the last hundred years and allows us to evaluate the new conception of women and their role through a succession of extraordinary images from Wanda Wulz to Cindy Sherman, from Florence Henri to Nan Goldin.

The Donata Pizzi Collection is participating in the seventh edition of Archivi Aperti, scheduled for October 15-24, 2021 on the theme “Sustainability: environment, land and landscape protection, and the relationship with the social in photography.”

Tatay is a video installation by Marina Ballo Charmet, realized with the friendly collaboration of Ludovico Einaudi.
Man’s role, power and identity in society have changed radically since the end of the 19th century. The exhibition tries to identify the crucial steps by bringing together more than 100 works by important Italian and international artists.
In 2014 I decided I had to do something for Italian photography. I had been working as a freelance photographer for years. Before that I had been an archivist for a weekly magazine (L’Espresso) later a picture editor (Giunti Editore) and I had been in charge of the office in Rome for an American photo library (The Image Bank, later Getty Images).
Frankfurt am Main, 30.01.2020 – Five decades of photography, as seen from a female perspective: under the title RESISTANCE & SENSIBILITY, the Fotografie Forum Frankfurt (FFF) presents 150 works by Italian women photographers from 1965 to the present day. Savignano sul Rubicone (FC), 30 agosto 2017 – Un panorama di narrazioni possibili, di molteplici localizzazioni della fotografia contemporanea, un’evocazione degli attraversamenti dialettici nel mondo del visuale, che si incontrano alla confluenza di un unico luogo e si incrociano in un festival. Ad Confluentes è il titolo di SIFEST26: un’indicazione sulle traiettorie dell’edizione 2017 del festival di Savignano sul Rubicone a cura di Savignano Immagini e una chiave di lettura delle metodologie attuate ai fini della programmazione dell’evento in arrivo a Savignano sul Rubicone dall’8 al 24 settembre, di cui tre giornate inaugurali (da venerdì 8 a domenica 10 settembre) e le restanti dedicate al festival (16, 17, 23 e 24 settembre).
